It looks like we can expect to see Angelo Dawkins compete in more singles matches going forward.
While many have expected to see Montez Ford break out as a singles star, there has also been some hype surrounding the other half of the Street Profits, Angelo Dawkins. Since the Summer, Dawkins has been wrestling more singles matches and it appears that may be set to continue.
Fightful Select now reports that is not an accident.
WWE Superstar impressed officials Angelo Dawkins has seen an increase in singles matches, and for good reason. As has been a subject on the Fightful post-show podcast in recent months, Angelo Dawkins has seemingly, but subjectively impressed audiences with his improvements in the ring. It would appear that has extended well beyond that of just our bubble, as WWE sources contacted us after we discussed it on this past Monday’s post-show. One WWE source heavily credited Angelo Dawkins with improvements all around, from his physique, to his in-ring ability, to the style that he’s worked. Another WWE source said that it’s not an accident that Dawkins has been working more singles matches since this Summer. For context, he’s had as many singles matches since June 20 that he had from WrestleMania 2021 to May 2022. That same source said they’d overheard higher ups speaking well of Dawkins. An AEW talent actually spoke with Fightful and said that they long felt like Angelo Dawkins could be the breakout member of the group if he got singles match opportunities. We’re told to expect Dawkins to keep getting put into singles matches at a rate that exceeded what we saw before the Summer
