Kento Miyahara Defeats Davey Boy Smith Jr., Will Face Jun Saito In AJPW Champion Carnival 2024 Final

The All Japan Pro-Wrestling Champion Carnival 2024 finals, which is set to take place on May 12th at Yokohama BUNTAI, are set with two competitors remaining in the tournament.

At the May 6th Champion Carnival 2024 event, Kento Miyahara defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr with his Shutdown Suplex finisher to earn his 12th point which enabled him to win the A Block of the tournament. Miyahara will now go on to face B Block winner Jun Saito on May 12th. Saito was the surprise winner of the B Block as he defeated Suwama on May 4th to earn his 10th point and move on to the finals.

Miyahara and Saito faced off and had a verbal confrontation following Miyahara’s victory over Smith Jr.

The three matches announced for the May 12th Champions Carnival 2024 Finals are:

  • Main Event: Champion Carnival – Final: Kento Miyahara (A Block winner) vs. Jun Saito (B Block winner)
  • AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Rising HAYATO (c) vs. Kaz Hayashi 
  • Suwama & Hideki Suzuki vs. Masakatsu Funaki & Masayuki Kono
