Tonight’s AEW Dynamite comes from Toronto, Canada for the promotions Canadian debut.
Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho will battle in the main event for the Ring Of Honor world championship. You can read the live results for the event below.
-Renee Paquette out to a big pop. The crowd give her a massive reaction. Christian Cage out for an apparent interview. Mixed reaction for Christian. Christian plays to the crowd, who cheer him. He guarantees a victory and buries the Maple Leafs which turns the crowd fully on Christian. He introduces Luchasauras for his match with Jungle Boy.
-Luchasauras defeats Jungle Boy.
-Jungle Boy to a huge pop from the crowd. Toronto crowd is on fire. Christian is on commentary. Jungle Boy has momentum early on. Luchasauras turns the tide with a german suplex. Luchasauras sets up a table. Match is back and forth. Luchasauras takes over by throwing Jungle Boy into the barricade. We go to commercial as Luchasauras dropping Jungle Boy back first on the apron. We come back from commercial as Jungle Boy turns things around with his speed. Jungle Boy ends up sunset flip powerbombing Luchasauras through a table. Christian leaves the broadcast table. Luchasauras sits up in the ring. Luchsauras turns it around, hits a big power move and covers Jungle Boy, who kicks out. Luchasauraus hits a great combination of moves, Jungle Boy kicks out to a big pop. Jungle Boy ends up hitting a poisonrana into a Killswitch. Luchsauras kicks out. JB locks in the snare trap but Luchsarauras reaches the ropes. Luchasauras hits the chokeslam off the top rope into his finisher and Luchsauras gets the win.
-Ethan Page being interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette. Stokely reveals he has purchased Private Party’s contract from Andrade. Page says if Isiah can defeat him on Rampage, Private Party’s contracts are free. But if Page wins, Matt Hardy’s contract also belongs to The Firm.
-War Joe defeat The Factory
Big reaction for War Joe. The Factory are getting very little offense. All War Joe. War Joe get the win after Joe sinks in the choke. Wardlow gives the powerbomb symphony to QT Marshall. Prince Nana and his faction out to interrupt War Joe. Brian Cage says no one wants to see QT get powerbombed. The crowd disagree. Cage says they had FTR where they wanted them last week. Cage questions if FTR are here. They are! FTR out to back up War Joe to a huge pop. FTR introduce Shawn Spears, out from the face tunnel. He feeds Aaron Solo to FTR who hit the Big Rig.
-Backstage interview with Jericho. He says he will outwrestle and outfight Danielson.
-Swerve Strickland Defeats Billy Gunn
Swerve out to a mixed reaction. The Acclaimed and Billy get a huge reaction. Max drags Swerve in his freestyle. Billy controls the early phases of the match. Swerve springboards into a dropkick that catches Billy noticeably low. He rolls out of the ring as we head to commercial. Come back from commercial with Swerve in control. Swerve ends up hitting the Swerve Stomp but Billy kicks out. Swerve would end up winning with the aid of the bottom rope on a crucifix. The Acclaimed out to check on Billy. Mark Sterling and Tony Nese out to announce that Sterling now owns the trademark to Scissor Me.
-MJF tells Stokely Hathaway to stop having The Firm getting involved in his business or he will fire him. He threatens William Regal, mentioning a dark past with him.
-Jon Moxley out for a promo about Hangman Page and being the AEW World Champion. Hangman interrupts and cuts an impassioned promo about what he’s done in the last year and what he’s lost. MJF watched the segment from a sky box.
Chris Jericho defeats Bryan Danielson – Ring Of Honor World Title
-Jericho out to his Lionheart theme, back and forth opening, Danielson takes control. The pair exchange 10 count punches in the corners, Jericho ends his with a hurricanarana as we head to commercial. Back from the break and Danielson regains control. Lands a huge butterfly suplex into a hammerlock. Jericho ends up locking in the Walls Of Jericho, Danielson gets out and sinks in the Walls himself while the crowd boo him heavily. Jericho hits the Attitude Adjustment. Danielson comes off the top rope into a codebreaker. Jericho pushes Danielson into the ref. DANIEL GARCIA HITS BRYAN DANIELSON WITH THE ROH WORLD TITLE. Jericho gets the 3. Blackpool Combat Club out to take the title
-Nyla Rose backstage interview where she has the TBS Championship around her waist. She says possession is 9/10ths of the law. Anna JAS demands a match with Nyla on Friday. Nyla accepts.
-Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker vs Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida
Hayter receives by far the loudest reaction. Two teams exchange momentum early with hard strikes. Come back from commercial with the faces in control and the crowd behind Shida. Shida and Britt trade rollups in a fun spot with Shida ending up getting the 3 on the Dr.
-Jon Moxley and Claudio Castanoli vs The Butcher and The Blade set for Rampage
-Orange Cassidy Defeats PAC – All Atlantic Championship
-Crowd are really into this match early. PAC mimics OC’s shin kicks but Cassidy counters the big one with a dropkick. PAC tombstones Cassidy on the stage, Cassidy rolls down the ramp and makes it in for the count of 9. PAC tries to use the bell hammer but the ref gets into the way. Cassidy hits the Orange Punch but PAC kicks out. After more hammer time, Orange ducks underneath a shot and then toys with the idea of using it. PAC takes advantage of OC’s hesitation but Orange kicks out and hits not just one, but two Orange Punches in order to earn the win and his first championship in AEW.
