John Cena will be back on the tv screen soon.

John Cena plays Peacemaker for the DC Universe, in films including Suicide Squad. Then, Peacemaker received his own self titled show on HBOMax. The first season of the show went on to become a popular series within the DC fandom, causing many fans to want more. HBOMax then renewed Peacemaker for a second season, but after the announcement of the series renewal, things went quiet. That is, until now. Director James Gunn took to Twitter to reveal some good news for the show’s viewers, almost a year after the renewal. Gunn recently shared a number of BTS pictures from the making of Peacemaker on Twitter to honor cast member Danielle Brooks’ birthday. Gunn also provided a Peacemaker season 2 filming update in the post’s caption, stating that filming would begin in “just a few months.”

Recently, HBOMax has had some controversial restructuring by Warner Bros. Discovery. The DCEU Batgirl movie, Scoob! 2 and a number of animated and scripted projects have all been canceled. Despite this, Gunn had already stated that Peacemaker season 2 would be safe and his filming update served as an additional reassurance of the show’s second season. We’re excited to once again see John Cena on our screens!
