Tommaso Ciampa Really Wanted NXT To Be Equal To RAW And SmackDown

Ciampa wanted NXT to be reach the level of RAW and SmackDown.

Ciampa hasn’t had the best run on the WWE main roster over the last few months since having his NXT swan song in April. He’s now aligned with The Miz so is on TV more, but it has left fans missing the Ciampa we got to see in NXT.

While speaking with Inside The Ropes, Tommaso Ciampa stated that he really wanted NXT to be equivalent to Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown.

“It’s all timing [on moving to the main roster]. I think for me, one, I really wanted to build the NXT brand and turn it into something that was equivalent to Raw and SmackDown. I wanted that bad, a lot of us wanted that bad, and I think we were headed that way, and then the pandemic happened. A lot of stuff’s changed. It was very much clear that NXT was backtracking to developmental for a lot of good reasons, I understand them.”

Time will tell how NXT will change once again now that Triple H has resumed creative control of not just the brand but the entire WWE creative process.
