Johnny Gargano Understands Why NXT Changed Creative Direction

Johnny Gargano understands why NXT 2.0 came to be.

Johnny Gargano’s run in NXT ended around the time the 2.0 brand revamp began. When his contract expired with the brand, he would leave the WWE to spend time with his new-born child. Since then, Gargano has not wrestled consistently, with sporadic appearances on podcasts and conventions.

While speaking on Good Karma Wrestling, Johnny Gargano stated that he fully understands why NXT changed its creative direction.

“I totally understand it, they went to more of a strictly developmental program, which I totally get. They’re building people for the future and they have a lot of great gems there and a lot of people that should turn out and hopefully become superstars one day.”

Since NXT 2.0 began, it has returned to the developmental brand it initially began as before the mass signings of top independent talent like Gargano.
