Raquel Rodriguez Didn’t Want To Change Her Last Name On Main Roster

Raquel Rodriguez has had an interesting run on the main roster since being called up to SmackDown.

Raquel Rodriguez joined the SmackDown roster when she lost her NXT Women’s Title to Mandy Rose. Since then, we have seen her become one of the most legit stars on the blue brand. Rodriguez has faced Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown womens title and it was met with high praise.

While speaking on “‎Out of Character with Ryan Satin,” Raquel Rodriguez talked bout her name change on the main roster. Rodriguez wanted to keep her last name as Gonzalez but to no avail.

“I wanted to keep Gonzalez because it represented me. It represents my legacy because it’s my real last name. It’s the name that my dad used while he was wrestling throughout his entire career as well. But I wasn’t upset about it. I’m glad that they still gave me something Hispanic, Rodriguez.”

Time will tell how successful Rodriguez will be on the main roster with her major name change but it is good she is still happy with her name change.
