WWE’s Current Plan For Women’s Tag Title Tournament

It looks like WWE do have an idea regarding the WWE women’s tag titles.

Since Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the WWE earlier this month, the women’s tag titles they held have been in a significant limbo. While we have heard that the pair are stripped and indefinitely suspended, we have heard little information regarding the women’s tag title tournament that WWE confirmed on the night the pair were suspended.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several pitches have been made for the tournament. Two of them involved a four-team tournament.

Regarding the tag team titles, there will be a tournament. There have been different pitches made. At least two involved a four-team tournament. In one, the four names are Natalya & Shayna Baszler, Tamina & Dana Brooke, Nikki ASH & Doudrop and Carmella & Zelina (even though they already broke up). Except for Natalya & Baszler, there was no other team being used regularly, although ASH & Doudrop did do a television loss to Banks & Naomi two weeks ago. Natalya & Baszler were losing to Banks & Naomi at house shows and had a television tag title match a few weeks ago on Smackdown.

Time will tell how WWE will fill this tournament out and if they will treat the new champions better following the controversy regarding Naomi and Banks. Who do you think should be the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions? Let us know in the comment section and on our social media pages.
