Drew McIntyre Wanted Triple H WrestleMania Match

We came close to seeing a dream match unfold with Drew McIntyre and Triple H.

Triple H recently announced his retirement from the ring full time following a serious health scare. That has left fans wanting certain dream matches that we never got to see. One of the more prominent ones that does not get mentioned a lot is a match with the Scottish Warrior, Drew McIntyre.

While speaking with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, McIntyre explained how he had pitched the idea to face The Game at WrestleMania several times:

“I pitched at every opportunity I could, how about us at WrestleMania? ‘What’s the story?’ [Triple H said] and I’d say ‘What’s the story? We’ll figure it out, but what about you and me at WrestleMania?!’ How awesome would that be? We got in the ring together a few times during my first run but when I returned, we did do a match in Japan that was really cool. We got in the ring together, we didn’t have anything in mind and we just went for it. It was cool to go back and forth a little bit and you understand just how good he is, what a ring general he is.”

Drew McIntyre to talkSPORT

It is unfortunate we never got to see this dream match between Triple H and Drew McIntyre, but health comes first. The Scottish Warrior may be continuing his program with Roman Reigns later this summer.
