Update on Roman Reigns Schedule

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns made waves this past weekend when he flirted with the idea of a potential WWE departure while cutting a promo during a house show in Trenton, New Jersey.

Amidst rumors of growing Hollywood interest, Reigns is reportedly set to miss up to ten weeks of television, per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

Reigns is set to work less dates in his new WWE contract, presumably now on “part-time” status. It’s said that from late June through Labor Day, Reigns is set to only work two pay-per-view shows.

“[Reigns] was removed from all shows. His last show is June 19 until after Labor Day, so I don’t know what the situation is other than he’s scheduled for the two pay-per-view events. All TV tapings, all house shows.”

-Meltzer on a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio.

Sean Sapp of Fightful is now reporting that Roman Reigns is “factored in” to long-term creative plans, which seemingly contradicts the report from Meltzer. Sapp does clarify, however, that he’s not sure on the validity of the previous reports and could not confirm, nor deny, them.

Reigns is currently the WWE and Universal Champion, in his fourth and second reigns, respectively. The Tribal Chief became the undisputed WWE Universal Champion when he finally defeated Brock Lesnar in their third WrestleMania main event in April.
