Kenny Omega Reportedly Worked Full Gear with Hurt Shoulder

Last night’s Full Gear event was capped off by a match that some are calling an all-time classic. The main event, which saw “Hangman” Adam Page defeat Kenny Omega to win the AEW World Championship in the culmination of an almost three-year story, has received rave reviews across social media. This is despite one of the two participants not being at 100%.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live, Omega wrestled last night’s match against Page with a hurt shoulder. Meltzer would even go on to say that “The Best Bout Machine’s” shoulder was banged up to the point where he was struggling to lift heavy weights.

“I don’t know if he doesn’t have any strength (in his shoulders), but he can’t lift heavy weights with them,” Meltzer said. “The last time we were talking about it, he said he was able to lift the bar. That’s (only) 45 pounds.”

The now-former AEW World Champ is no stranger to working through an injury, as there were numerous reports that he worked the entire G1 Climax with a lower leg injury in 2018.

There were no further details given on the extent of Omega’s injury or when the injury occurred.
