Kurt Angle Reportedly Turned Down Offers From AEW and Impact

This past February, All Elite Wrestling hyped a major “Hall of Fame” worthy signing to the company. Of course, that signee ended up being “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage, one of the names thrown around the internet was former WWE Champion Kurt Angle. The multi-time world champion even trolled social media with a faux-hype video for his return, which ended up being a promo for his new podcast.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the Olympic Gold Medalist has said that there was more than a little validity to a post-WWE comeback.

“Angle tells Fightful that he was offered a deal to come in to All Elite Wrestling for a “run” after his retirement. [Angle] said that he was flattered by the offer, but wasn’t considering it because he’s too beat up physically to compete at the level he once did.”

Not only did Angle receive an offer from AEW, but he reportedly got a call from IMPACT wrestling as well. Despite the offer only being a “one shot deal”, and Angle admittedly having a “soft spot” for IMPACT, he never seriously considered it.
