Konnan Asks Tony Khan About Report of Daniel Bryan Signing with AEW

As we’ve previously reported, Bryan Danielson has already signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling. Not only has The American Dragon signed, but there are already tentative plans for his AEW debut. The news has been covered all over the wrestling world, but earlier tonight even more fuel was thrown onto the fire.

According to former WCW star and occasional AEW personality Konnan on his ‘Keepin It 100’ podcast, a conversation was had between him and AEW Owner Tony Khan about the status of Danielson’s employment.

“I will tell you this because I did ask Tony Khan [about Danielson signing with AEW], and the only reason I asked him was because I wanted to use Bryan Danielson in AAA.” Konnan said.

“So I was like “Hey man, have you signed Bryan Danielson?” and [Khan] goes “You know I can’t tell you that” and then I looked at him and I go “If that motherf***** shows up in Chicago [for All Out] that place is gonna melt” and [Khan] just smiled. So, I think he might have but he has not told me.”

Konnan has shown up on multiple episodes of AEW Dynamite in the past month, so it’s not hard to imagine that this conversation may have taken place at one of those tapings.

While Danielson is not reportedly planned to make his AEW debut on September 5th at All Out, plans can change at any minute. Not to mention, The company reportedly has to figure out when they will debut former WWE Champion CM Punk as well.

Bryan Danielson has not been seen in a wrestling ring since his loss to Roman Reigns on the April 30th edition of Friday Night Smackdown.
