WWE Looking Into Using Raymond James Stadium For Six Nights Of Shows

WWE would like to return fans to events in a big way, and it’s why one of the first shows back is WrestleMania 37. WWE is looking to make the moment even bigger though.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed how NXT is currently planning a two-night TakeOver event. There has been talk that WWE would wind up using Raymond James Stadium for TakeOver and everything else WrestleMania week to make the whole event as big as possible and bring in fans.

“The story I’ve heard is it will probably be from [the PC], but then I’ve heard some talk that maybe they’ll go to the [Raymond James Stadium] I guess they’ll announce that this week, because I’ve heard the idea of going to the stadium and having like 3,800 people for the two shows and then maybe if that was the case then you’d go to the stadium for SmackDown and RAW as well as the two-night WrestleMania which would be six straight nights at Raymond James Stadium if they do that, and they may not. The original idea I heard was that the NXT shows will be at the Performance Center, we’ll see. Then they move to Tuesday afterwards.”

It ultimately is the WWE’s decision, but operating in Florida which doesn’t have as many COVID-19 related restrictions as other states gives them luxuries they wouldn’t have elsewhere. WrestleMania week has a chance to be a big return to live events for the company, as it’s been close to a year since they’ve been able to have fans live and in person. They might not fill the stadium to help maintain healthy social distancing, but that doesn’t mean they won’t try to get as many fans around as possible to see as many shows as they can.
