AEW Defeats NXT In Viewership As Both See Increases In Numbers

WWE NXT spent the week hyping up Adam Cole arriving to justify his actions against The Undisputed Era, in addition to a no disqualification match between Karrion Kross and Santos Escobar. Meanwhile, AEW generated buzz for their show by offering more information about AEW Dark: Elevation and the arrval of Paul Wight in addition to having promoted several matches including a Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament between Britt Baker and Nyla Rose. How were the ratings in this week’s battle of the Wednesday Night Wars?

Showbuzz Daily has reported that AEW has once again defeated NXT with Dynamite getting an overnight average of 831,000 viewers to NXT’s 734,000. AEW also won the 18-49 demographic war with a .35 to NXT’s .18

Both shows saw increases from the previous week when AEW had 747,000 and NXT had 713,000. AEW won the demographic war last week as well with a .31 against NXT’s .16.

AEW was the fifth highest watched show last night while NXT was 24th in the top 50 shows.

Next week, AEW is already beginning the blitz to win the war by announcing Paul Wight’s first appearance in AEW Dynamite in addition to the long awaited Shaq & Jade Cargill vs. Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet match. Meanwhile NXT has already announced that Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez will receive their prize for winning the Dusty Rhodes Women’s Tag Team Classic when they meet Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.
