WWE Has Filmed Content For A Second NXT Show

WWE has gone back to building a ton of talent and not all of it can be featured on their programming regularly. One of those shows that is struggling to find time for all their talent is NXT. The black and gold brand has been slowly bringing along talent not just from the top of the independent scene, but the best of 205 Live and up and coming stars they’ve cultivated themselves. Now it seems NXT will find another show to showcase some of that talent.

Fightful Select has reported WWE has filmed footage for a second NXT show called NXT Evolve. They had registered that as a trademark, but few people knew the intention at the time.

The report adds that the show has Gabe Sapolsky and Jeremy Borash “heavily involved” with the series, reportedly doing “nothing like anything else WWE is doing.” They taped the show at a warehouse the WWE used as they renovated the WWE PC into the Capitol Wrestling Center.

There has already been some content filmed for the program. Several of the newer signings since Summer were involved. Josiah Williams was the host for the show, which saw more of a “fight” feel to it. There was no live commentary, so anything that would be added would be in post-production.

WWE has been trying to figure out how to do this for some time, and even Triple H said they were going to look finding ways to get more in-ring time for NXT. It sounds like this project will allow them to get this started sooner rather than later.
