Backstage Update On AEW Women’s Championship Eliminator Tournament

AEW has Revolution on March 7th, and that is quickly coming up upon us.

While the card isn’t fully booked, we now know that we have one big match to expect. The Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament began airing the Japan half of the bracket and it seems that the tournament won’t be completed at the pay per view.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that the winner of the tournament will face AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida at the pay per view, which means the tournament will have to be completed by then. Many people thought the tournament would be completed at the pay per view, but it’s now assumed the tournament final will take place on the go-home episode of Dynamite before the pay per view.

At this point, considering travel restrictions, the results for the Japan bracket have probably already been filmed and the winner is likely en route to America or already have traveled so they can quarantine and prepare for their match. While we don’t know who it is, the road to facing Hikaru Shida should be fun.
