Former WWE Star Tyler Reks Comes Out As Transgender, Starting Transition Process

Former WWE star Tyler Reks is taking a major step in her life, revealing she is undergoing gender transition.

Once known as Gabriel Tuft, Gabbi has gone public with her transition. She has recorded an interview with Extra TV which will air tomorrow, February 5th.

A press release talks about Gabbi “despite his successes during and after his WWE run, Gabe was still wrestling a secret persona dwelling deep inside of him.”

From Gabe to “Gabbi”. Gabe Tuft, a former WWE superstar, (ring name “Tyler Reks“) makes a long-awaited gender reveal exclusively on Extra TV. With a flair for flying kicks, quick takedown tricks and flowing dreadlocks, Gabe Tuft was once the WWE Superstar “Tyler Reks“, a tough pro wrestler who made opponents quiver. To the cheer of millions of adoring fans, he battled in iconic WWE mega TV events seen across the wrestling world such as Raw, SmackDown and WrestleMania.

As Tyler Reks, Gabbi Tuft started on WWE’s version of ECW in 2009 after spending time in their FCW developmental territory. Her biggest accomplishment in WWE was being part of the winning Smackdown team at the 2010 Bragging Rights pay per view. She also appeared on the 2010 Survivor Series as part of Alberto Del Rio’s team, but the team lost to a team captained by Rey Mysterio. As Reks, Gabbi wound up having an extended run on the early iteration of NXT in a tag team with Curt Hawkins.

Tuft also caused some waves in WWE by creating an online cartoon known as the Midcard Mafia, a project put together with Hawkins, that was short lived due to garnering heat with management.

Tuft started a countdown on social media to the beginning of her transition, and posted today was a sign that she has 2 days remaining until she begins transition. Good luck to her on the start of living her truth and being comfortable in her own skin.
