Kenny Omega Is Working To Get AEW’s Women’s Division More Television Time

All Elite Wrestling gets a lot of credit for the things they do right in pro wrestling. They do, however, get harsh criticism when they’re not doing something right. One of those things is their women’s division.

While not the shameful deeds of the WWE before 2015, AEW has taken a lot of criticism for a lack of quality in the women’s division and some of that is unfortunate accidents. Injuries and the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the depth of the division and it’s left them off Dynamite on more than one occasion. Kenny Omega is one of the driving forces in the creative aspect of the women’s division and he has heard all of the comments good and bad.

Talking with TV Insider, Omega talked a lot about the division and he was asked if they’d find more television time. Omega talked about how AEW is taking baby steps to improve the division, but he put over their constant improvement as they work hard to get them more television time.

“I think we are taking baby steps. We have hungry performers who are passionate about getting a chance to do their best. Passion speaks to me more than the performance of a maneuver, and right now, our women are really chomping at the bit to get these TV spots.”

“They’re all training hard. Our roster keeps getting better. [No one has] lost their passion. They are still striving for that big goal, which is for the women’s division to get more time. I’ll have the biggest smile on my face the day we get it. I know we will.”

AEW is just over a year old and still working through their growing pains. It sounds like several of them are ones they know they have to continue to improve, but it all goes down to waiting to see what happens next.
