Ridge Holland Provides Injury Update

Ridge Holland recently spoke with Talk Sport regarding the injury he suffered during an NXT taping back in October of last year. Holland injured both of his legs when attempting to catch Oney Lorcen who had performed a diving plancha, Holland managed to fracture his left ankle as well as rupturing his patela and dislocating his knee cap on his right leg.

Holland on the Injury;

“Pretty freak incident. On my left leg, I fractured and dislocated my ankle, and then on my right leg, I dislocated the kneecap and ruptured my patella tendons. Kind of a buy one, get one free on injuries! But, it’s coming on well. The WWE medical staff are top-notch and they’ve got me well on the road to recovery.”

Holland on already planning his return;

They were all very concerned and just wanted the best for me. They made sure I got the best medical care and reassured me that everything is going to be fine. From my personal standpoint, mentally, as soon that happened and I was on the stretcher I was already thinking about ‘OK, let’s get ready to come back. What can I do to get back and be better than ever?

Holland would continue talking on the support he received from the WWE, including the management team as well as the medical team.

Holland would then go to discuss when he will be returning, stressing that it was still early days but he has begin given a window and a timetable for his return to action.

Holland on when he will return;

“It’s early days yet, but the doctor has said six to nine months, so I’m just taking it day-by-day and see how the knee and ankle feels. If I look too far in the future I’ll probably take my focus on what needs to be done today. So yeah, we’ll see how it goes.”

Holland seemed set for big push, appearing at the end of Takeover 31 after the main event match up between Finn Balor and Kyle O’reilly, carrying a lifeless Adam Cole.

It is likely that he would have either been in the role that Pete Dunne is currently in or at least part of the faction led by Pat McAfee.
