Ben Carter Admits Video Games Help Inspire Him To Learn New Moves

Ben Carter is set to make his NXT debut tonight where he is due to be a guest on Noam Dar’s Supernova 11 Sessions.

Ahead of his debut, Carter spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com about the whirlwind year he has had, during the interview Carter spoke about how video games inspired him to learn new moves.

Ben Carter on Video Games inspiring his moves;

“Pretty much every single year I’d go through all the moves in the WWE games and literally just have my phone out, go through each and every single one and if I see one that I like and I can realistically do that I want to try it, I go, “Okay, let me quickly record this so I can try it in training the next day.” So, I’ve literally got a folder in my phone of like moves and all of them are pretty much motion capped things from the WWE games,”

He also spoke on not just inspiring his move set, but using them to inspire his contemporaries to also get motivated by them,

Carter on using games to motivate his contemporaries;

“That thing is such a cool tool to use,” “It’s literally perfect for an aspiring wrestler. So, when people at school, will sometimes be in training and be like, “I just don’t know what moves to do.” I’m like, “Dude, have you ever played the WWE games? Do you have the WWE games? Because if you don’t, there’s Youtube videos. If you do, just go through and see which ones you like.'”

Although Carter is still a fan of the wrestling games, he did state that he feels the quality of the games has dipped.

Carter on the quality of Wrestling Video Games;

“I would say the wrestling games, the standard of them, has dropped in recent years, but I’ve always been a huge wrestling gaming dude. From [Smackdown! Versus RAW] 2007 onwards. 1000%,”
