Roman Reigns And Kevin Owens Get Backstage Praise

One of the biggest storylines on WWE television right now is the angle between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns on SmackDown. In one week, the storyline took itself to an intense place and the company has started to put a pay per view match in place for KO and The Tribal Chief for TLC.

While Vince McMahon has approved the match, it hasn’t been officially announced but that could come as soon as tonight on SmackDown. The work being done so far on the angle has made a great impression in the back with the right people.

Fightful Select has reported the start of the angle last week drew a lot of praise backstage. The praise isn’t uncommon for Roman lately, as he’s had a lot of praise for the quality of his work since his return at SummerSlam. Another point of praise was how Owens was able to show he was ready to compete at the top level on a moment’s notice.

After Owens was relegated to little or no use for months, several that we spoke to felt that he was able to rise to the occasion and match Reigns from a promo perspective.

Roman’s creative work is handled differently since his return. While most talent go through the bulk of the creative team, his angles are given special consideration as a whole other team has hands on work with him. Paul Heyman, Vince McMahon, Michael Hayes, and Reigns personally have the input, as his creative work is kept away from the team.
