Exclusive: Sami Callihan Tried To Court Jon Moxley Into Joining IMPACT Roster Following WWE Departure

The talk of the wrestling world has been Kenny Omega and Don Callis taking his newly won AEW World Championship to IMPACT Wrestling this coming Tuesday, since he won the belt from Jon Moxley this past Wednesday on Dynamite.

Since Moxley lost the title to Omega in the main event of AEW’s “Winter Is Coming” edition of Dynamite, IMPACT wrestling Star Sami Callihan has been teasing a possible reunion between himself and former Switchblade Conspiracy teammate Jon Moxley.

These recent teases from Callihan about potentially reuniting with his former partner apparently isn’t the first time the idea has been discussed.

According to sources that I have spoken with, it appears as though Sami Callihan previously attempted to court Jon Moxley into joining the IMPACT roster after he had left WWE and entered into free agency.

Additionally, it was mentioned to me the fact that Callihan and Omega are also friends, and that the two of them had previously discussed the opportunity of an AEW and IMPACT wrestling crossover.

While it has been reported that AEW’s partnership with Impact is “not currently scheduled to be that intertwined,” and that Omega’s appearance on Impact is a one-off deal, which was done as a favor for Don Callis, it does appear as though there have been plenty of talks about a working arrangement in the past.

Omega and Callis are scheduled to appear on the upcoming episode of IMPACT on AXS TV this coming Tuesday, but the segment is said to be taped and edited into the broadcast as IMPACT has previously recorded all of their TV through the end of the year.
