Speculation On Outcome Of Inner Circle Segment Next Week

Tony Khan mentioned December would be a big month for AEW, and so far it’s been that way. With AEW kicking off December with a huge Dynamite that saw a new World Champion and the debut of Sting, lost in all of that was the fact that Chris Jericho issued an ultimatum to The Inner Circle.

Jericho told the group that if they couldn’t get their act together, the faction would break up. After a pull apart brawl that stemmed from Sammy Guevara’s boiling over issues with MJF. MJF came out appearing to want to throw in the towel as Frankie Kazarian had a submission hold on Le Champion, Guevara came out to stop what happened. The only problem was Jericho saw Guevara with the towel and didn’t see MJF had originally had those plans. The cracks continued to reveal as it was still very clear Jake Hager and Ortiz aren’t fans of MJF and Wardlow as part of the faction, leading to Jericho issuing the ultimatum for next week.

Dave Meltzer brought up on Wrestling Observer Radio that the segment may not end in a breakup of the faction, but it could end up in a Guevara face turn. The seeds have been planted since the end of Guevara’s feud with Matt Hardy, and considering MJF has been pushing around Guevara since his initial attempt to get in good with Jericho, this could be the culmination of all the signs.

Guevara is a talent AEW is high on, so don’t be surprised if next week ends with Sammy Guevara set up to become a top babyface in the company in 2021.
