AEW Planned Three Major Debuts For First Ever Dynamite

Last night was a major night for AEW. Their Winter Is Coming show featured surprises and a major debut in the form of Sting. It may have been one of the biggest debuts and surprises in company history, but it almost had competition.

AEW’s first ever episode of Dynamite now remains a landmark moment as that was the night Chris Jericho formed The Inner Circle. However, during Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that AEW originally planned to have Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson debut that night. The duo was supposed to start a feud with the Young Bucks, and eventually AJ Styles would have joined The Good Brothers. It would’ve been a landmark moment, but The Good Brothers and Styles wound up re-signing with the WWE. Only Styles remains with the company now and The Good Brothers might be having second thoughts on not joining up with their old friends.

It was said that at least at the time The Good Brothers were “kicking themselves” over passing on AEW, recognizing themselves that they passed up a chance to be in a major program on AEW television, which was a spot far better than they ever got in the WWE. Things, however, wound up working themselves out in strange ways.

The Good Brothers have a good contract scenario with Impact that allows them to work their outside company projects and continue to build their brand in a post-WWE life, and now with the Impact and AEW partnership there’s a chance we could see The Good Brothers and the Young Bucks have a match anyways. This partnership could open the door for several dream matches the fans want to see.
