Last night featured Reckoning in her in-ring debut on Raw. Things didn’t go her way last night as not only did she lose, but her mask came off and revealed a poorly kept secret that the Retribution member was Mia Yim.
Clearly, the mask falling off was unintended. The Raw commentary team made no mention of Reckoning’s real persona either, and there was a reason for that. While the mask doesn’t exactly conceal her identity, the announcers continued to refer to her as Reckoning and not Mia Yim, because according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, that’s what they’re supposed to do. They’re not to bring attention to her previous identity which could be condescending to some fans, but that is one of those Vince McMahon edicts.
Let’s hope Yim’s next appearance on Raw goes better than last night’s.
