Drew McIntyre won the WWE Title after beating Randy Orton on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Due to this he will be facing Roman Reigns at Survivor Series instead of Orton.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about WWE’s plans for McIntyre. He said Drew requires opponents and it seems Sheamus presenting Drew with a chest full of family heirlooms on this week’s RAW could indicate he will be his next opponent.
“Drew McIntyre needs opponents […] Any time someone is your close personal friend, isn’t that a sign that you’re going to break up and turn on them?”
It was said that this is an old formula in pro wrestling that dates back to the territory days of wrestling. It will be interesting to see how WWE books the feud between the two friends.
