JBL Thinks Ronda Rousey Hit A “Gold Mine” With Recent Comments

JBL knows how to draw heat with crowds, and he certainly thinks one inactive WWE star knows how to draw it.

Ronda Rousey caused quite a stir when she referred to pro wrestling as “fake fighting.” It’s only helped create controversy for the former WWE Women’s Champion who hasn’t been seen since her loss to Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 35 on television. In an interview with Sportskeeda, JBL was asked his thoughts on Rousey’s comments and said that although he doesn’t know Rousey personally, he thinks she hit a “goldmine.”

“She [Ronda Rousey] was the hottest thing about six months ago with all that tension she got on herself. I don’t know if she did that on purpose or not, where she called ‘fake’ wrestling. But she sure got a lot of heat off of it. I mean, if she didn’t [do it on purpose], she hit a goldmine. If she did [do it on purpose], she’s really smart. And she may be, I don’t know her. I don’t know either way. People say good things about her in the WWE that I’ve talked to.”

Rousey might be under contract still, or she might not be. Reports on her contract initially reported Rousey was under the WWE umbrella until April of 2021, but Paul Heyman speculated in an interview earlier this year that the company may have quietly worked out an extension with her, or may have tacked time on the back end of the contract due to her being inactive.

Either way, Rousey remains a hot topic in pro wrestling. In recent weeks, she has been spotted training in the ring with Teal Piper, along with a mystery person and even James Storm.
