Cody Rhodes held a media call in advance of Saturday’s Full Gear PPV and a hot topic of discussion at the beginning of his call was the return of his last name.
With the potential of being Cody Rhodes on AEW television, this has fans wondering if he would use a loophole of regaining his last name to once more challenge for the AEW World Title. The return of the last name had fans speculating that while Cody said he would never again challenge for the title after losing to Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes is a whole other matter.
Rhodes put that speculation to rest by reaffirming his promise to never challenge for the title again, not even under a different name.
While fans everywhere could be disappointed The American Nightmare will keep true to his word, others will applaud AEW for sticking to their speculations and consequences of stipulations.
