Internal Discussions For Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania Plans Revealed

Drew McIntyre has had one of the better years a WWE Superstar can have during these uncertain times thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. A win at the Royal Rumble, beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, and a successful WWE World Title reign that just recently ended would be a pretty good year for any Superstar. So what’s next for McIntyre?

Potentially a big money match at the next WrestleMania.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is internal discussion of McIntyre facing Tyson Fury at WrestleMania 37. This wouldn’t be out of left field, at least. Fury issued a challenge for McIntyre to face him, and McIntyre even responded to the challenge. The pandemic has made any chance of the match happening so far difficult, but not entirely impossible.

The report went on to noted that “Fury has not committed to a date for that” as of this week, though, but it doesn’t put the match out of the realm of possibility. Saudi Arabia was also likely destination for that match, considering the payday potential, but Saudi events have been postponed because of COVID-19.

For now, we wait to see if WrestleMania brings us The Scottish Psychopath against The Gypsy King.
