Paige Speaks Out On Unionizing WWE Superstars: “I’m Outspoken As F***.”

It was earlier reported Paige had given an emotional speech about the WWE trying to end her Twitch channel and how she had felt over their decision. The now-retired Superstar had discussed how she had used Twitch to help cope with being unable to wrestle and how she felt upset the company she had broken her neck twice for had now ended her channel.

Paige’s talk on that stream didn’t just stop there, however. It was revealed by her on the stream she had talked to an attorney about unionization, an idea that’s often been considered a dirty word by the higher ups in the company.

“People don’t realize I’m outspoken as f*ck,” Paige said. I will say how I feel. I don’t care who you are. I will say how I feel because I don’t like being walked all over. … You know what? I’m gonna start looking more into unionization. I’ve been learning about it by a unionization lawyer.” “This is bigger than Twitch, it’s about taking f*cking control of your own life and not being controlled by anyone. I gave ten years, man. I poured my f–king heart and soul into this. I had a bad couple of years like every motherf*cker has. I’m not the only one who is f–king controversial around here, I’m not the only one. It’s f–king louder when it comes to me because I’m a f–king female. I hate using that because I’m a woman but it’s because I’m a woman and women don’t usually stand up for themselves.”

This Twitch situation may be the last straw for several superstars, especially with how sudden they were asked to cease broadcasting yesterday. The situation could come under further scrutiny in the near future should Joe Biden win the election. Former Democratic Presidential candidate Andrew Yang, being considered as a possible candidate for Secretary of Labor by the Biden campaign, has called out the company for their business practices and could look into how they treat their talent that they label “independent contractors” despite being contractually obligated to only work for them.

The talk of unionization could also lead to heat on Paige, which may even include termination from her contract, but at least that would allow her to retain her ability to stream on Twitch.
