Driver Involved In Death Of Matt Travis Pleads Guilty

The driver of a vehicle involved in an incident that left independent wrestler Matt Travis dead has pleaded guilty to related charges, it was revealed today.

Travis, 25, was struck by a dump truck that was undertaking an illegal u-turn at the time of the collision and subsequently failed to stop after the collision on November 9th, 2019 in East Harlem, New York.

The driver, Luc C. Vu, was arrested shortly after the incident, and pleaded guilty to charges of reckless driving, failure to exercise due care, causing serious injury and failure to yield to a bicyclist.

Vu’s lost his job after the arrest, with court records showing that Vu had his driver’s license revoked and was also fined $250 – the fine being specifically for the failure to yield to a bicyclist.

Mr. Vu’s court hearing is scheduled for December 4th. Our thoughts are with Matt Travis and his family.
