AEW’s president Tony Khan has many fingers in many pies. Not only is he the CEO of AEW but Khan is also co-owner of NFL franchise Jacksonville Jaguars aswell as London based soccer club Fulham FC who compete in the top flight English Premier League.
In February 2017 Khan was named as co-owner and Vice Chairman/Director of Football Operations of Fulham FC and fans have had a rollercoaster time of things over his tenure being promoted twice and relegated once in the past 3 years.
This season Fulham are 3 games into the new season and are still yet to secure their first points within the league having been defeated 3-0 at home from Arsenal, 4-3 away from home off fellow promoted soccer club Leeds United and last night suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to relegation rivals Aston Villa.
Tony Kahn is no stranger to Twitter and last night took to his platform to discuss last nights defeat aswell as Fulham’s start to the season as a whole. Khan also informed fans that he is as unhappy as they are with their current form.
These comments have not sat well with former player and current manager of Fulham FC, Scott Parker. Parker, today, took time to speak to the media regarding Khans comments, claiming them to be ‘disappointing’ and ‘not helpful’
“It’s not something I agree with but it’s how he sees it,”
“The thing I’m actually disappointed with, is how he’s apologising for the performance. He shouldn’t have.”
However, Parker says his players “worked tirelessly from the first minute to the 95th”.
“The performance last night was a good performance which was a group of players who have done everything they can.”
“From 3-0 down they were still trying work as much as they can to try and get us back in the game and for that I don’t agree with him.”
Although we are only 3 games into the 38 game season. The pressure is already pilling onto manager Scott Parker as Fulham are currently odds on favourite to be relegated for the 2nd time within 3 years.
