Bobby Lashley Wants To Win Title For Kids Who Look Like Him

Bobby Lashley has had one major goal since returning to WWE, and that is to win the WWE World Championship. For Lashley it is more than the prestige, it’s about the image it portrays. Lashley doesn’t want to win it just for the accolade, but to show people who look like him that it is possible to get all you dream of.

At the time of writing, Lashley is the current WWE United Stated Champion. A title he won from Apollo Crews at PayBack. Lashley has also held the ECW Championship as well as the IC Title during his WWE stints.

Lashley wants the WWE World Championship, but not just for himself. At a time when the Black Lives Matter movement is strong, Lashley wants to support this movement in his own way.

“I’ve got the United States title, and that’s an amazing accomplishment, but I need a stamp on my career,” said Lashley to Sports Illustrated.“That’s the WWE Championship, and the opportunity is there for me. I’m the ‘Black Superman,’ and that world title is what I need. I just need to stay healthy, keep kicking ass, and continue moving forward.

“If I win that world title, I’ll always be known as a former world champion. I want to do that for myself, I want to do that for my children, and I also want to do it for the kids that look like me.”

Another important aspect for Lashley is the appearance of The Hurt Business. Lashley doesn’t want it to be a group of thugs, but something more.

“We’re not thugs, we’re dressed clean. We’re businessmen, Black businessmen. We’ve been in this business a long time, and that’s how we conduct ourselves. We have put in the work and we’re going to continue to do that.”

I for one, have been excited with the impact of the Hurt Business. MVP has reinvented himself completely and with Lashley after that gold, it could be a fantastic year for the members of the group.
