NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis and WWE Executive Director Bruce Prichard exchanged words back and forth last month. This all started after Prichard stated that the NWA World Champion lacked the “it factor.” Aldis took offense to the remarks and took shots at Prichard’s booking, using WWE’s declining ratings as an example. Aldis also stated that Prichard hasn’t paid attention to anything that he has been doing since he was with TNA.
Nick Aldis happens to be married to WWE Superstar Mickie James, who recently returned to action on the August 10th edition of RAW. Many fans voiced their displeasure over how Mickie James was presented upon her return. Things didn’t improve, as she wrestled her first match back on the August 17th episode of RAW, which was a count out loss to Natalya. Following the match, even Mickie James herself stated that she was disappointed with the way her return went down.
Nick Aldis recently appeared as a guest on the Battleground podcast. During the interview Aldis was asked about Bruce Prichard, and whether or not WWE botched the booking of Mickie James’ return on purpose, because of the heat between himself and Prichard.
“You’re not suggesting that the executive director of a publicly-traded company, with stockholders and huge television rights fees to maintain, would be as petty as to devalue one of his own assets just to get revenge over a feud that he himself started, are you? You can’t honestly suggest that would be a real thing. It has to be a coincidence,” Aldis said sarcastically. “These silly, petty tactics, fans see through it. I don’t think anybody saw that and thought, ‘Mickie James is a jabronie.’ Everyone saw it for what it was. She’s an all-time great and doesn’t need me to fight her battles. She knows her worth and will make it work, but everyone could smell that stench. It was just sad.”
