WWE Nixed Title Run Due To Online Controversy

WWE made the move to call up The Forgotten Sons (Jaxson Ryker, Wesley Blake, and Steve Cutler) to the main roster earlier this year. However, a tweet from Ryker seemingly derailed any plans WWE had for the group.

The Forgotten Sons made their debut on SmackDown and were in line for a push. WWE needed to fill the hole left after The Uso’s went out of commission following an injury to Jimmy Uso’s knee, and that was apparently The Forgotten Sons until “plans changed.

At the time our country was facing a lot of turmoil and unrest as Black Lives Matter protests were being held all across the nation. This was when Jaxson Ryker sent out a very controversial tweet supporting President Trump, which was not received well by WWE Fans and Officials.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed The Forgotten Sons. He stated that WWE had planned on putting the SmackDown Tag Titles on The Forgotten Sons upon their call-up from NXT to the main roster. But, Ryker’s tweet changed those plans.

“They were gonna get the tag team titles and now we haven’t seen hide nor hair of them and I don’t know if we will. That was an unfortunate tweet for sure.”

We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about The Forgotten Sons.
