Exclusive: Rey Fenix Injury Update And Potential Status For AEW Double Or Nothing PPV

Last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured a match up between Rey Fenix and Orange Cassidy, both of whom are scheduled participants in Saturday’s Casino Ladder Match at Double Or Nothing.

There was a spot during the match which saw Fenix attempt a Springboard Senton onto his Casino Ladder Match opponents that were outside the ring on the floor. Fenix unfortunately undershot the move slightly and ended up crashing hard onto the concrete.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez talked about Rey Fenix’s injury last night on Dynamite. He stated that Fenix is a little banged up but that he should be fine for this weekend’s AEW Double or Nothing PPV.

“The word I heard was he was banged up, but they think he’s going to be good for Saturday, and its Fenix, so he probably will be.”

I reached out to my sources within AEW and inquired about Rey Fenix’s injury and health following last night’s Dynamite and was told that he suffered an injury to his hip and back during the match. I also asked if Fenix would be good to go Saturday in the Casino Ladder Match, and was told, “I highly doubt it. If he does go, he’ll probably be one of the last entrants and won’t do hardly anything.”

Rey Fenix had a doctor’s appointment scheduled for earlier today to determine the extent of his injury and whether or not he will be available for Saturday night.

We will keep you updated as soon as we hear more information about Rey Fenix’s injury and status for Double or Nothing.
