WWE Officially Cancels Huge Overseas Tour

Live wrestling events have come to a halt all across the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While WWE, AEW, and IMPACT have continued to put out their weekly television programming, they have all been done so without a live audience in attendance.

There isn’t a real definitive answer as to when things will go back to normal, if ever. But it doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon, regardless.

WWE was scheduled for an upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand in August, but that is no longer the case as it was announced earlier today that the company has cancelled those plans. Local promoter for WWE’s Australian and New Zealand tour, TEG Dainty, released a statement earlier today announcing WWE’s cancellation of their August overseas tour.

“To the WWE Universe of Australia and New Zealand,

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work with WWE to secure our new return dates.

The superstars of Monday Night RAW can’t wait to get back and put on one hell of a show for you in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

In the meantime, let’s keep safe, look after each other and we’ll be back with new details very soon.

TEG Dainty.”
