Video Surfaces Of Jim Cornette Using “Carrying Bucket Of Fried Chicken In Ethiopia” Line On WWE Television In The 90’s

If you’ve been on social media at all tonight, I’m sure you’ve heard or read about Jim Cornette’s latest controversy.

Cornette is a noted liberal and has advocated for many progressive beliefs on his podcasts. He is also very fast and loose with his words on Twitter and in every day life. Cornette says many things that rub people the wrong way and has been perceived as racist, sexist, homophobic and transphobic.

NWA Vice President Dave Lagana tweeted out an apology for Jim Cornette’s commentary on NWA Powerrr this week after Cornette said “carry a bucket of fried chicken through Ethiopia” when taking about how tough Trevor Murdoch is.

As it turns out, this was not the first time Jim Cornette used this tone deaf language. Twitter user Art O’Donnell tweeted out Cornette saying the same exact phrase on WWE television when referring to Lawerence Taylor.

After the initial outrage, many fans are also putting the blame on NWA for having this episode for over 7 weeks and not thinking that what Jim said could he offensive to fans.
