WWE Possibly Making Changes To Smackdown Stage Set When Moving To FOX

For sometime in the late 90’s to the mid-00’s, WWE had a plethora of stage designs. Each pay per view would have a theme, with giant tombstones or a recreation of a destructed city as a set for the stage. Monday Night Raw would have a giant screen, while Smackdown would have multiple half circles to highlight the differences of the shows.

Sometime during the middle of this decade WWE, as a cost cutting measure, consolidated all the stage sets to look the same. A giant screen on top of a bunch of LED boards. It doesn’t set anything apart and is very monotonous.

That could all change for Smackdown come October. The rumor is that the Smackdown Fist is coming back. The Smackdown Fist was a stage design that had a giant fist punching through the set above where the wrestlers entered onto the stage. WWE video games even went as far as having wrestlers able to climb on the fist and jump off in spectacular fashion. Brad Shepard is the one who first tweeted about it.

Wrestling fans are huge on nostalgia, and the Smackdown Fist would strike that vein. It would also set Smackdown apart from Raw, in what would be a huge breath of fresh air.
