Ring of Honor And The NWA Part Ways & End Working Relationship As Of Last Weekend

The partnership between Ring of Honor and the NWA is no more, as the two companies have reportedly parted ways. The two promotions wrapped up their obligations and commitments with each other as of this past weekend, and will no longer be working together.

According to a report from PWInsider, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is no longer being advertised for the August 9th, ROH Summer Supercard event in Toronto, as the two companies will not be working together going forward. NWA Vice President Dave Lagana finished his commitments with ROH this past weekend, as he had previously been producing all of the Ring of Honor pre-tapes over the last seven months.

The report went on to state that a decision was made for the two promotions to go their separate ways. It is being said that NWA President Billy Corgan will be putting all of his energy into producing a weekly stand-alone NWA wrestling product later this year once he wraps up his current Tour with his band the Smashing Pumpkins.

It was also reported that sources close to each promotion has said that the two companies parted was on amicable terms, and that the door was left open to potentially partner up again at a later date.

Ring of Honor Stars PCO and Brody King are the current NWA World Tag Team Champions, and the two also won the Crockett Cup earlier this year, which was revived and co-promoted by ROH and the NWA.

We will have to see what happens with Brody King and PCO’s NWA World Tag Team Championship reign now that the partnership between the two companies has come to an end.
