How AEW Decided Who The Lucha Brothers’ Mystery Partner At Fyter Fest Would Be

All Elite Wrestling’s Fyter Fest takes place on June 29th from the Ocean Center in Daytona, Florida.

Originally scheduled to take place at the event was a six-man tag team match between PAC and The Lucha Brothers against The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. However, PAC was once again removed from an AEW event, and a mystery partner was announced in his place. Earlier this week AEW finally announced who the Lucha Brothers mystery partner would be, as Laredo Kid was officially announced.

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed the reason Laredo Kid was selected to be the mystery partner for the six-man tag match at Fyter Fest. He mentioned that the Laredo Kid vs. El Hijo del Vikingo match at a recent AAA event impressed The Elite so much that they wanted to have them on the card. However, since Laredo Kid was the only one of the two who had a visa, he was the one who was given the spot at Fyter Fest next weekend.

It was also reported that with AAA’s upcoming event at Madison Square Garden everyone who is booked for that show will end up with visas, which includes El Hijo del Vikingo. If he gets a visa, he could eventually end up working an AEW event as well.
