WWE To Have Network Special On Bret Hart vs. Tom Magee This Monday

The hype around the infamous “holy grail” tape trader match is at a fever pitch. Earlier this year it was reported that the match had been found.

Then Conrad Thompson announced that his Starrcast 2 event would feature Bret Hart and Tom MaGee participating in a watch along and Q&A of the match.

Not to be outdone, WWE has also acquired the footage and seems to be putting out a Network Special on the match. The timing of this is peculiar as it’s two weeks away from the Starrcast premiere.

One of the greatest mysteries in sports-entertainment history has been found and you’ll be able to see it along with a documentary explaining the story on WWE Network after Raw on Monday.
On Dec. 6, 1986, Bret “Hit Man” Hart faced Tom Magee in an untelevised tryout match in Rochester, New York. After the bell sounded and Magee’s hand was raised, he was labeled the next Hulk Hogan, but since the bout was untelevised, footage became lost over time … until today.
VHS tape traders tried in vain to chase down the cassette of Hart vs. Magee for three decades to no avail, but it was recently discovered as part of “Hit Man’s” tape library and is available Monday after Raw on WWE Network. Check out this classic match and get the full story on how the tape was discovered, what happened to Tom Magee, and much more by watching The Holy Grail: The Search for WWE’s Most Infamous Lost Match, streaming Monday after Raw.

This will be a delight to wrestling historians and fans. This is also an indirect shot at Starrcast, which WWE has already thrown a couple wrenches their way. Pulling The Undertaker and Kurt Angle from the event, as well as stealing an idea that was going to happen at Starrcast 2. A watch along with Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels for their WrestleMania 10 ladder match.
