In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the reason that WWE decided to hold the United States Title Tournament was going to be an attempt to jump start Rusev’s push.
While Rusev isn’t participating in the tournament, it is very possible that the US Title tournament concludes with Rusev turning babyface and somehow coming away with the belt. This also adds to the speculation that of Rusev working a program with Aiden English after the tournament finishes.
