Tommy Dreamer and TNA Wrestling have parted ways.
Dreamer revealed on today’s episode of “Busted Open Radio,” that he was no longer head of TNA creative, stating that he and the promotion have agreed to mutually part ways.
“Yesterday, I had a great conversation with Carlos Silva, and me and TNA are no longer in a relationship. We’ve mutually agreed to part ways. I’ve given so much of my life to that company. I don’t have any ill will or malice. I want it to survive, and I want it to be the best it can be. I love this business. It’s hard because I’m not going to be able to see the people that I helped. I had a lot of people help me follow my dreams, and I love that part about the business of what I did.”
According to a new report via Fightful Select, while Tommy Dreamer was well liked within TNA, he had been facing mounting criticism over the last few years about his work from TNA Talents. It was also noted that Dreamer’s departure was not a surprise, as one source stated that Dreamer leaving was in the works, but it had been expected to occur after next weekend’s Slammiversary PPV.
PWInsider is reporting that former ROH Star Delirious, who worked alongside Tommy Dreamer in TNA, is expected to assume the role as “point person” on their creative team for the time being.
There have also been rumors that former WWE writer Road Dogg has been discussed as a potential replacement for Tommy Dreamer, according to Fightful Select.
