Joey Janela’s Foot Set On Fire From Flaming Superkick Spot
A botch that could have ended very badly occurred on Satuday.
Recently, Joey Janela’s contract with AEW expired, this has lead to him wrestling on the independents and back in GCW. Janela has stated he is more than happy in his current role, but he may change his tune following an incredible botch in a match with Drew Parker at GCW’s Saturday PPV
Janela set his boot on fire and proceeded to hit Parker with a Flaming Superkick. He might have supposed that the flame would go out thanks to the power of his kick, but that was not the case at all.
Janela would also address the incident on his Twitter, joking that his foot was still on fire that night:
It is odd that this spot would be planned prior to the match going down and no one thought to have a fire extinguisher at ringside. Janela is lucky to have escaped serious injury and hopefully he will be safer next time he tries a spot like this.
