Sammy Guevara was suspended by AEW until further notice owing to his disturbing comments on Sasha Bank, which he made on a podcast in 2016. He also made a racially insensitive comment on the same podcast. Guevara has apologized for his words and agreed to undergo sensitivity training.
Guevara was scheduled to square off against Matt Hardy in singles competition on this week’s AEW Dynamite. However, Guevara will no longer be competing.
AEW has announced a replacement for Guevara. Matt Hardy will be squaring off against Inner Circle member Santana instead.
Sasha Banks also released a statement regarding Sammy’s words, where she said they had a conversation about the matter. We will have to see when Sammy Guevara will be making a return.
