CM Punk’s return was reported by several outlets prior to the official announcement on Wednesday’s Dynamite.
Punk’s return was announced to be on June 17th, on the premiere of AEW Collision. As mentioned previously, there were many reports that this was going to happen prior to the announcement.
Fightful Select have now reported that AEW did whatever they could to keep the announcement a secret before Dynamite.
We’re told that despite it was largely assumed that CM Punk’s return would be the May 31 announcement by Tony Khan, almost no one was outright told that prior.

We will have to wait and see how Punk’s return will go on June 17th, but many fans are happy to hear that Punk will be back in the ring.
