Kevin Nash Recalls Triple H Replacing Him In Match Against CM Punk At WWE Night Of Champions 2011: “You’re Not Wrestling Punk. I am. I’m Beating That Motherf***er”

Back in 2011, Kevin Nash briefly returned to WWE and was involved in a program with CM Punk, which was eventually taken over by Triple H. At the 2011 WWE SummerSlam PPV, they were Pay-Per-Views back then – not PLE’s, CM Punk was victorious over John Cena and won the WWE Championship. However, immediately following Punk’s victory over Cena, Kevin Nash attacked Punk, thus allowing Alberto Del Rio to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeat CM Punk for the WWE Championship.
This was supposed to lead to a match between CM Punk and Kevin Nash at WWE’s Night of Champions 2011 PPV, but as they say in the business… plans changed.
On the latest episode of the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash recalled Triple H nixing his match with Punk, and inserting himself into the match instead after CM Punk pissed Triple H off, when Punk went off script and said something about his relationship with Stephanie McMahon.
“When I was supposed to wrestle CM Punk after I cost him the belt, he said something that pissed off Paul about something with him and Stephanie. And it wasn’t on script, and it pissed Paul off, and Paul came back and basically said, ‘You’re not wrestling Punk. I am. I’m beating that motherfucker.’ He was that hot...
“Paul [Levesque – Triple H’] isn’t a bitch. It was like, ‘Oh, okay, motherfucker.’ Basically, like, ‘Oh, okay… it’s Kliq rules.’ Like, ‘You want to pull them out, measure them. Here we go. Suck on that…’
”I know how fucking much Paul cares for him now, and to bring him back and everything that happened, and Paul to entrust Phil [Brooks – CM Punk] with everything that he’s done, and vice versa for each other… So that’s what people don’t understand that aren’t in the business, is you can have that kind of fucking heat with somebody 10 years ago, four years ago, three years ago … but, when you got to make money and make music together, fucking how quickly that dissolves. ”
