Aleister Black Talks About His WWE Return Happening The Same As Historic Night For Wife Zelina Vega, and Keeping His Signature Entrance
Black opens up on returning with his signature entrance and the rare moment of sharing a historic night with his wife, Zelina Vega.
WWE Superstar Aleister Black recently opened up about his return to WWE and the unique circumstances surrounding it — coinciding with his wife, Zelina Vega, winning the Women’s United States Championship on the same night.
Speaking on The Angle Podcast with Joey Karni, Black revealed that neither he nor Vega knew the outcome until shortly before the show.
“So we didn’t know, she didn’t know until the show almost started and it was decided in their meeting in the afternoon that, that’s the route they’re going,” Black explained. “I told my wife, moments like that are very far in between in terms of wrestling because it’s a lot of work and these moments when everything kinda clicks together, that’s very rare in wrestling. So I told her like you know, cherish this moment because it’s something unique and something rare. You know, I don’t think a lot of people can say they have that moment and we do, which is a blessing on its own.”
Black also addressed the decision to return to WWE using the same entrance he was previously known for, and whether any changes were considered.
“I think for me it only made sense to come back as that, right? And like anything else, it would alienate what we already had built. Adding on it, maybe? I didn’t think it was necessary, Triple H didn’t think it was necessary. The presentation was always complete. It wasn’t even really like a conversation in regard to what should we do, it was like this is what we’re doing,” he said. “And especially now that they’ve put, you know, my entrance into the ramp itself, that was a really good feeling. It means for a big part, you’re factored in. To me, I was very honored that they put my ramp inside the actual stage so they modified the stage to accommodate what I do. It was a no-brainer for all of us.”
Aleister Black’s return was highly anticipated by fans, and the timing with Zelina Vega’s championship win made it an unforgettable night for the WWE couple.
